Parth Parekh DDS, FICOI

Originally from Albany, NY, Dr. Parth Parekh graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Buffalo with a B.S. in Biomedical Sciences and a minor in Mathematics and graduated top 10 in his class while earning a Doctorate in Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) from the University of Buffalo School of Dental Medicine. Before becoming the co-owner of Durham Dental Group, Dr. Parekh worked several years as a general, cosmetic and sedation dentist in the Triangle Area and perfected his craft of recreating beautiful smiles for those who were fearful of visiting the dentist. Prior to moving to the Triangle Area, he completed a two-year General Practice Residency at the Dental College of Georgia at Augusta University, where he received extensive training in surgical, cosmetic and implant dentistry, intravenous (I.V.) sedation, wisdom teeth extractions, Invisalign, and managing medically compromised or anxious patients. Him and his wife decided to put down roots in the Triangle Area in 2017 and have loved being a part of the community ever since!

Dr. Parekh provides unparalleled patient care in areas of cosmetic, restorative, and full-mouth rehabilitation and focuses his efforts on developing meaningful, long-lasting relationships with his amazing patient family. Dr. Parekh is best known for using his vast training in cosmetic and sedation dentistry to make even the most apprehensive patients feel at ease and by treating them like family from the moment they step into the patient lounge. His patients at Durham Dental Group love him for his uncanny ability to transform people’s smiles and custom tailor each experience based on the individual’s desires and expectations. As a smile designer, Dr. Parekh is committed to advanced learning, attention to detail and pursuing clinical excellence so that he can successfully instill confidence, boost self esteem and give patients the smile they’ve always dreamed of but didn’t think was possible. He lives for the moment when he does a smile reveal for his patients and their loved ones. Dr. Parekh is one of the youngest recipients in the nation of the highly coveted Fellowship in the International Congress of Implantologists. Having faced dental phobia in his childhood, Dr. Parekh made it his mission to find a better solution to treat his patients and to redefine the traditional dental stereotypes. He went on to fulfill extensive requirements to become certified in intravenous (I.V.) sedation in North Carolina, which is quite a remarkable achievement as only 5% of general dentists in North Carolina are able to provide this service to their apprehensive patients. In addition, he is one of the few dentists that has passed the written test and is pursuing a Fellowship in the American Academy of Implant Dentistry. In his quest to perfect his skills in implant dentistry and intravenous sedation, Dr. Parekh completed 720 hours of continued education in a nine-month implant continuum at the AAID MaxiCourse and has performed thousands of sedation cases on anxious patients to help improve their smile and quality of life!

It was while he was pursuing his passion in implant dentistry that he discovered a love for teaching. Dr. Parekh has assisted in teaching the hands-on components of placing and restoring implants, performing I.V. sedation, and bone grafting procedures to dentists and residents from all around the world.
Dr. Parekh is a firm believer in giving back to underprivileged communities nationally and internationally and has traveled numerous times to remote areas of Tennessee and the Dominican Republic to provide free dental services for children and adults in need. Dedicated to service, Dr. Parekh and his team members provided $350,000 of free dentistry and impacted hundreds of patients that don’t normally have access to dental care. In his free time, he loves to travel with his wife, go skydiving, watch UNC basketball, exercise, and spend time with family and friends.

Ayub Ali, DDS

Dr. Ali, co-owner of Durham Dental Group, is an experienced and compassionate dentist who has meticulously shaped his extensive academic and post-graduate journey to ensure that his patients become cherished members of his dental family, receiving nothing less than the highest quality of care. Beginning his dental career with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences (Pre-Dentistry) from Florida Atlantic University, Dr. Ali graduated with high honors before earning his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from the University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine in New York.

After realizing his dream of becoming a dentist, Dr. Ali’s commitment to patient care didn’t end with his formal education. Dr. Ali pursued additional training and expertise when he was accepted into a highly competitive and rigorous Residency Program at Staten Island University Hospital NY, which is an oral and maxillofacial trauma one center with a focus on medically-complex patients. This renowned program encompassed various medical disciplines such as surgery, emergency medicine, anesthesiology, pediatrics, and more. Dr. Ali gained a holistic understanding of the relationship between disease processes, dental well-being, and overall physical health. This intense training provided invaluable experience in complex dental procedures and treatment planning, equipping him with skills necessary to deliver exceptional care. Upon completing his residency, Dr. Ali set his sights on North Carolina, captivated not only by its inviting climate, picturesque landscapes and delicious southern food, but also by the warm and welcoming locals.

Dr. Ali stays at the forefront of dental technologies, techniques and materials as they advance, and regularly participates in continuing educational opportunities. He successfully completed the American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID) Maxicourse, which includes completing hundreds of hours of training in implant placement, soft tissue and bone grafting.
